Rust on the tracks

I am running out of space in my designated Lego area and it has been
suggested if I wish to continue that I consider moving my layout to the
garage. Has anyone had any problems with their motors or tracks being in a
colder environment? I Lego does just fine in the cold, in fact there have
been many "deep sea" Lego expeditions that have ended up in the freezer. But
I don't know about the metal parts. Let me know if you any of you have had
any experience with this.

Oh, and it if makes a difference I live in the Seattle WA area, so not real
cold winters, but it does get a bit damp.

(...) Personally I have not had a problem. I store all my unused track and motors in my unheated basement and havn't had a problem yet. My guess though is that cold is not a problem but dampness could very will be. I would try and keep everything as (...) (23 years ago, 6-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)
