I have the advantage of having two great spotlights and a small, photography
type backdrop at work. You could make a similar backdrop very easily. Just
an L-shaped frame and a roll of white paper and a few lights. The frame
allows you to create a rounded L-shape with the white paper and if you light
it correctly (or even somewhat close) you don't see anything except white in
the background.
I will try to snap off a picture of the setup sometime and post it.
