  Yet another Project for James

I've been co-opted. I am now building a FP9 (or something that looks slightly like one...) for NALTC. That, and some more Blue/Yellow Stripe coaches. The FP is coming along, except for the almost total lack of 1x4 blue arches. One set had them, and (...) (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) points of model railroading, though it didn't really mention one that I think is a very strong point, the fact that of all the types of things you can model, railroads are the thing which can most extensively be modeled by physical models (as (...)   Re: Another Christmas Train: The Santa Express

(...) Nice work, Greg! I like a lot of the details-- lights, wreaths, etc. Though it seems, however, that you have already picked up the most valuable building tip you could get -- to build your train 8 wide!! {:^D As an aside, trains which run (...)   Another Christmas Train: The Santa Express

Season's Greetings Fellow LEGO-Fans! I saw Adrian's post the other day about the Christmas Train that he had built and it inspired me to get mine finished. I finally finished it a few days ago and have it now set up under our table-top tree. Today I (...) (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.fun.holiday, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Announcement for Train Event in Braunschweig/Germany

(...) That reminds me -- does anyone know when FGLTC was formed? I've got it listed here: (URL) the date of 1999-12-09 (9 Dec 1999) is in question -- it's the date of the first public mention of it that I could find. Thanks for any additional (...) Model trains, in general, seem to be in decline, at least in the US. Of course, there is a group of hard-core enthusiasts that really love them, but the general populous seems more interested in other toys. My father always comments that model (...) (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Info on GMLTC Style Honeycomb structure

I believe from my memory that I can build four 30"x45" modules with about 200 of the blue tubs. It would build 3 normal modules and one 2x4/2x6 hybrid module. The hybrid would use 2x4 for the walls and 2x2 for the towers, but use 2x6 for the lattice (...) (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Info o GMLTC Style Honeycomb structure

Actually we had the green farm module before they were really selling green bricks in quantity. Before they were selling the green 2x4s in sets, about 100-150 of them followed me home from the model shop. (They let me keep all of my creations that (...)   Re: Track Question

(...) To do it in 12v you need a 7860 (remote controlled stop). This allows you to cut off power to a section of track. Hook it up on the lane where you want the train to stop, and let the main line have the right of way (and continuous power). (...) (24 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)
