Re: Why did Lego stop the electrically controlled trains?

I don't remember a de-coupler, but I have [1] the set with the signals and cut-out switch. There was a black 4x2 brick which went into the bottom of the motor, and had a little push-to-break switch on the bottom. The signals had a plate that raised (...) (...) You want to move to the Twin Cities? I'm *sure* the GMLTC would be happy to have you come over and build with us... <grin> And, it's only about 25 degrees outside, with a chance of snow and freezing rain tonight. What more could you want? ;-) (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Images from NGTLC layout at Atlanta GATS

I sure do enjoy that you post images from the display events. Thanks, again. It's fun to see, but, even better, I know to be there in-person. On a personal side-note: I sure am getting tired of not being in an area with a LEGO train club. I really (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Eurotram in LEGO colors

(...) Absolutely! But, those don't see the light of web. ;-) Actually, I think some do see the web, for I was just looking at my LEGO page through some of the models I built a few years ago, and I don't think they're all that great. Some of my (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Race pictures from Atlanta GATS

(...) Well one of them had sent me an email after the Oct. Greenberg show and asked if he could make one and bring it. I told him he could, but didn't really expect him to show up with one. We did have to loan him an engine so that he and his (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: F7 Diesel engine

(...) Wow, that is a great showcase peace. It looks great, and you have introduced a lot of new techniques! That nose, the windows, the round windows (nice trick making those fit in right. Just to be picky do they really look that good in person?), (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: F7 Diesel engine

Thanks for the kind words Andy. Yes, the mounting the portal windows and the rounded nose were the things that the rest of the model are based around. They were the driving design constraints in developing this model. All in all, I'm quite pleased (...) (24 years ago, 15-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)
