Re: Help Open 12v switch track motor- doesn't switch

Thank you for the photograph of the opened gray motorized points box, Ben. What a task to open that box! Which sides of the gray box were glued together? - the long sides or the short sides? Thanks. later, James Mathis (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Help Open 12v switch track motor- doesn't switch

(...) Dear James (and whoever might be interested in this also), I took the point motor from Ludo and opened it again (was hardly glued now). And I took a few pictures to put the best of them on my homepage here: (URL) direct picture link here: (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Question about Running 12v trains

(...) I just wanted to confirm: I totally agree with the opinion of James Powell. Light bricks might be shortened in their expected lifetime by to high voltage. With 9 V they shold last for a very long time. The Lego® motors (especially the older (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

  3225 Classic Train engine

I recently acquired the 3225 Classic Train. My interest is rather new for trains both in real life and in LEGO so I have no idea how realistic this engine is. It seems odd to me that there is a lever at the front of the train. Would it be more (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Question about Running 12v trains

(...) The lights _should_ be fine. Esp. if you have any real length of wire between them and the powerpack, they are not going to get 13V, in fact, they may well not even be getting 12V. The best way to judge is to take the lights, and (in a dark (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Question about Running 12v trains

For a 7864 12v train speed regulator: Went down to Radio Shack yesterday and bought a 40W 110v to 220v step up transformer. So far as I can tell 40W is just fine for running the LEGO 12v trains and accessories. The German plug on the 7864 goes (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Help Open 12v switch track motor- doesn't switch

Ben, Thanks. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. However, I would not want you to re-open a repaired points motor that currently works and risk damaging the box. Perhaps Ludo would be willing to speak to this again? I am (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) are (...) Well it's got ME gaga. MF looks to be a good set for parts.   Re: Help Open 12v switch track motor- doesn't switch

Hi James, same question came up u few weeks ago.... Ludo from Belgium answered then that he opened such a point motor box once, but he traded it away and the new owner is me. If you like I can try to find this repaired point motor this evening (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Help Open 12v switch track motor- doesn't switch

Hi, I need some help. I have a 12volt points/switch motor box that doesn't work quite right. Technic set 8856 Whirlwind Rescue contains(ed) the 6x6 multi-slope roof cap. Until seeing the two in the Mil. Falcon, I had sought 8856 for that single piece. Failing to find the 8856 set, I look forward to getting a Falcon for these pieces alone. (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)
