February 22, 2000 Greetings and salutations fellow Lego enthusiasts. We are pleased to announce the birth of the Vancouver (BC, Canada) Lego Club. During the past several years our own Lego Hobby blossomed and continues to escalate in new and (...)   Re: My EMD SD40-2

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Building is great fun, but I have been all smiles reading what you have been saying! Yeah, I have a problem with the railing too. It is just not right, but without the railing it looks unfinished. I was thinking that (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

hmmm... my very long reply seems to have been lost in the ether if the internet. If this post shows up and the other doesn't I guess I'll resend it. Chris (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Sighhhh, just looking over the above instruction scans, d*** I came back to the light to late...kinda wish they would rerelease that model again in white and gray (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 2585, I have 19 sets available, and a question...

I drove out to Grapevine and cleared the shelf at Toy Co., and now have nineteen 2585's sitting here. Reading the replies to this thread I see that eight different people are requesting 50+ sets... What's the usual LUGNET practice in these cases? (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.trains)

Re: Future of LEGO Trains ? was Re: Model Railroad Scenery

(...) Lets hope, if so, that we can remote control the points too (with DCC signals as Maerklin does). And that we get more related stuff too, as signal posts, different style points,... Regards, Ludo (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Future of LEGO Trains ? was Re: Model Railroad Scenery

(...) I'll take that bet. If TLC was smart, they'd change everything-- points, trucks, curves, even the magnet coupling. A change to 8 wide would be a natural evolution. Of course, they could come out with stuff to run on G scale track like (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Future of LEGO Trains ? was Re: Model Railroad Scenery

Dollars to donuts, no matter what the change is, it won't be to go 8 wide... RCX width is primarily due to the battery. Microscout is only 4 wide if you don't count non key mounting stuff... I think. (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) individuals... That would be great to go to eight wide trains. The only thing that I would want is for TLC to make available the pieces necessary to upgrade the old trains. Things like nose pieces, replacement motors, and wagon plates. I'm I (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My EMD SD40-2

(...) SNOT? What's SNOT to like? (...) Yes, that's what I meant by grills on the underside of the dynamic brake bulge. That's what it is. Those vents are to ventilate hot air emitted from the huge resistors which are using up the electricity (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)
