Re: Type of metal used in 9V Track?

(...) Scott: According to the book "Getting Started With LEGO Trains" the rails are made of German Silver. I will quote directly from the book. "It is a metal alloy containing no toxic heavy metals, and it presents no danger to people allergic to (...) (17 years ago, 28-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains)

Type of metal used in 9V Track?

Does anyone know what type of metal the 9V track rails are made of? Is it copper? Nickel Alloy of some kind? Thanks, Scott (17 years ago, 27-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.lego)

  Re: LDCC control from PC

(...) It is really nothing spectacular. Yes, there are 2 RCXs (one running LDCC and the other one having sensors and sending readings to the PC). The sensors are connected to the RCX through Mindsensors-multiplexers, they are plain reed switches, as (...) (17 years ago, 26-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Ballasting Corners?

Hello again my fellow LEGO fanatics. :-) Stacy and I are working hard to get our layout ready for an upcoming train show and for Brickworld 2008. One place we are stumped right now is ballasting corners. We've got most of our straights ballasted and (...) (17 years ago, 26-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4-6-0 Olton Hall (5972)

(...) I love it! Stacy and I are planning to build one of these for Brickworld 2008 to go with her Harry Potter setup. The BBB's drivers really set this one off and I like the way you did the boiler. Everything in this MOC looks to scale and really (...) (17 years ago, 25-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LDCC control from PC

Thanks for posting the video, it is pretty impressive. Are you using two RCXs in this layout, one controlling the trains with LDCC and the other for sensors? What type of sensors are you using? How about adding some photos showing the hardware (...) (17 years ago, 25-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LDCC control from PC

(...) Here is a video of the test setup, consisting of a shunter with onboard uncoupling system, an underground, and the barriers... a total of 4 DCC decoders. I tried to film the layout together with the screen - sorry about the crappy quality, but (...) (17 years ago, 24-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  4-6-0 Olton Hall (5972)

My son was given the Hogwarts Lego train a few years ago which I added the 9 volt wheels to. I built up some extra coaches and it has done hundreds of laps around my layouts. I even made some movies featuring it in 2006 (URL) 2005 (URL) & 2007 (URL) (...) (17 years ago, 24-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LDCC control from PC

(...) Unfortunately, the layout on the picture is just a recreation of a layout from an old exhibition, so I don't have it any more (I wish I had enough space for it, heh). But I will try to put something together and make a video showing it in (...) (17 years ago, 23-Feb-08, to lugnet.trains)
