looking for someone with l-draw skills to partner for project

I am completely unskilled in terms of ldraw. I have a project I am doing for a specific train piece to honor my grandfather and I wanted to work with someone else who has the ldraw skills on it. If anyone is interested? Let me know. Sincerely, Brian (20 years ago, 26-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: My latest venture into trains: 4-6-4 Locomotive

Hands down this has got to be the coolest train MOC I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing. Chris. (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: My latest venture into trains: 4-6-4 Locomotive

Adrian, that is amazing. Wow, just look at how you made that all work together. So very clever and really tough I bet! A great idea made real in LEGO. My goodness that's so cool. Bravo on your idea come true. Thank you. e (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.trains)

(...) Shh...it's a secret. I don't want the train guys to know that... ;) Adrian (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: My latest venture into trains: 4-6-4 Locomotive

It's not just a train, it's a Transformer! Cool design. I especially like the last picture in the Brickshelf gallery. ;-) Jeff (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Redesigned mini train wheel (!)

(...) Thanks for the info. I've a problem with my London Underground train which uses these wheels and the high friction at a recent show sapped loads of power. We could only run the one motor on one track due to this and it mkes a hell of a (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: My latest venture into trains: 4-6-4 Locomotive

It is impressive. At first I thought, "that's a good train, for a non-train builder". Then I saw the robot mode and said "ooo!". My eyes focused on the joints that glued it together because that's the hard part of transformation. You generally need (...) In lugnet.announce.moc, Adrian Drake wrote: (stuff) Steam in general doesn't do much for me, and the proportions of the cab and boiler are way way off... so really it's not much of a train, taken as a train. I'll leave the comments on how good it is (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: My latest venture into trains: 4-6-4 Locomotive

(...) SPOILER BELOW Wow! That's scary. Its both a great train, and a great robot. I saw it on Brickshelf first and clicked to see the train and boy! was I surprised. Congratulations on a wonderful model. I think you should have made both camps very (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

My latest venture into trains: 4-6-4 Locomotive

I'm rather proud of this creation. I worked very hard to make the locomotive look as cool as possible. Many thanks to Shaun Sullivan, whose designs were my inspiration. (...) I did make the changes to my MOC's page. I guess I should have hit F7 before posting. But then again its not like I am righting j/k, writing a term paper here. ;) Dave www.GPLR.org (20 years ago, 24-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: MOC: WAP-5 Class

(...) Not exactly following you here... do you mean that they should have been shorter or do you mean they should have been clustered more closely together? If it was the former, well, I don't like modding ABS, although now in retrospect I realise I (...) (20 years ago, 24-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: MOC: WAP-5 Class

(...) Looks like you did a good job matching the prototype. In pic 42, it looks like the tubing could have been a little shorter to pull the details closer to the roof. I like the use of car roof pieces for the windows. Is it my imagination or do (...) (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Track side poles (was Re: Track side power polls.

  Re: Track side power polls.

(...) I have a nother question, are these poles tall enough? (keeping with the scale of the 1x1's) Should I make them taller or shorter? Dave www.GPLR.org (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track side power polls.

(...) Try the blue pill. Er, the blue ones. I think they have more friction, IIRC. BTW I personally think that the 1x1 round is a fine scale. I was being the devil's advocate. Minifigs have fat heads anyway! (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track side power polls.

(...) For that scale I am sure there are some LEGO Pen elliments that would work. But IMHO I think the 1x1 rounds are the right scale for Mini-Figs. Dave (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track side power polls.

(...) I think that technic piston heads would have the correct scale. They're only slightly smaller than fig heads, which is basically the preferred scale, as Larry mentioned. No idea how you would stack them with valid connection points though..... (...) (20 years ago, 22-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)
