  Delaware LTC interest?

This is just a quick message to see if there's any interest in starting a Lego® Train Club in Delaware. If there are other AFOL's in the Delaware area, reply to this thread and we can discuss ideas and details ... Thanks, Robert (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.loc.us.de, lugnet.trains)

Re: 4512 is great to modify

(...) You want this: [LEGOSet 3748] (a bit expensive) Available from S@H or Bricklink. The bulb and lens also available separately from Bricklink, I think. I too want to get a couple for use as headlights in my Technic cars. Keith (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 4512 is great to modify

(...) Where'd you get the lights and short wires? I just placed an order at Dacta (oops, I mean LEGO Education) for two 1x2 light bricks for $10, and so far, that's the only source for them I've found (apart from homebuilt jobs). Sounds like you (...) (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 4512 is great to modify

This mod also ocurred to me the instant I saw the red lens in the package. My nest step is to use an function output from the dcc decoder to control the front and rear lights independently. It really makes the train look great. Especially when you (...) (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  4512 is great to modify

I got a 4512 Cargo Train yesterday. It's my second train set, and I really like it. It derails on tight curves, though, but then you wouldn't expect a cargo train to be flying down the track anyway. I noticed while building the engine that it was (...) (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: UPDATE: New locomotive pricing

(...) 25% is a far higher rate of VAT than you actually pay anywhere in Europe. Tax considerations do narrow the price difference, but there's still a difference. There's also the problem that the dollar is pretty weak compared to the Euro, so if (...) (20 years ago, 20-Aug-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.general) !

  Re: UPDATE: New locomotive pricing

(...) Well, if our government would raise the VAT to 25% the current demostrations would turn into a full-scale revolution... I have no clue who charges 25% VAT, but here it is 16%. (...) Or EUR 37,58 at 16% VAT. Besides, AFAIK, this set is made in (...) (20 years ago, 19-Aug-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: UPDATE: New locomotive pricing

Here is my take on the math USD - 40 in EUR approx 32.40 EUR. BUT in USA taxes are on top, in Europe, ~25% VAT is included so 40.63 EUR would be the VAT INCLUDED PRICE. SO the price seems to make sense no?? (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

In lugnet.lego, Erik Amzallag wrote: <snipped a bit> (...) Same problem here in Portugal. It becomes more and more difficult to find Lego sets at supermarkets. And we only have a few of them (We don't have Targets, K-Mart, Well-Mart, etc). Even TRU (...) (20 years ago, 18-Aug-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)
