  Converting to 8-wide

After lots of time to think, I've decided to convert to 8-wide. I was looking at my containes for trains, and they started to look real small, so I've decided to convert the containers to 6 and the trains to 8. I'll keep some of my 6-wides, and (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My pics (digital)

Hi Guys, As You mignt have heard rtlToronto had our first train event this past weekend The link that was mentioned previously is now out of date (do to my Brillant work of uploading the images before rotating/resizing them) so Here is the link to (...)   Re: New non-magnetic coupler design

I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words. The Technic axle is a #2 not a #3. I also considered using a 1/2-connector-peg-1/2-axle-peg piece too. I might revisit that idea when I run out of #2 axles. The steering piece thingy could be replaced (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: New non-magnetic coupler design

(...) I love your truck design. I might suggest using an axle piece 1 size shorter than what is in your display, (a "2" instead of a "3", or similar) but otherwise I have no complaint. As for your other problem, I think it is the downside of running (...) (23 years ago, 28-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

(...) Jeff's photos from rtlToronto/train1, the first Lego Train event in Toronto. It was organized by a bunch of us in rtlToronto, which has been traditionally one of the larger Technic/Mindstorms organizations. About ten people brought their Train (...)   Re: My pics (digital)

Hey, looks like a nice setup you've got there. Is that from a specific event? I like the bridge there, it's not too huge a rise so that it looks unnatural. The roundhouse looks pretty cool too. The colors are a bit McDonald-ish though. ;-) And, why (...) (23 years ago, 28-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

  New non-magnetic coupler design

Hey all, I finally had the chance to run my trains this weekend. If you don't know, I have been building my trains 8-wide, and the size and weight of my cars was causing a problem. The surging that the long cars cause as they go through the corners (...) (23 years ago, 28-May-01, to lugnet.trains) !

  Re: New MOC online

(...) cutting a 9V connector in half and putting 12V pins on one end? That seems a lot less work and also less invasive of a more expensive part. Still, you get points for elegance! Thanks for sharing. (23 years ago, 28-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My Agonizing Decision

I would do both, convert 7722 to 9v AND buy two 'build your own trains' - say a small loco and a large loco and tender - from them you get the other combinations. Buy any Lego train you can. David (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Great train related web sites? Now: G Scale

(...) Frank, Thanks! I have other pictures too but I have a major space limit on that server and I'm already over.... I used to buy many of the Playmobile train cars to "kitbash" and make other cars from them. They were good cheap parts. LGB used to (...) (23 years ago, 27-May-01, to lugnet.trains)
