Re: what is the rarest train set?

The 4551 is indeed one, but also 139 control set is going for quite some prices. Sonnich ----- Original Message ----- From: Jonathan Wilson <jonwil@tpgi.com.au> Newsgroups: lugnet.trains Sent: Sunday, April 15, 2001 4:32 AM Subject: what is the (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: what is the rarest train set?

(...) I've got 7745...it is a nice set, but not as popular or rare or expensive as 7740....as for 7725...mmmm...I don't know (I certainly haven't seen too many of those available!!! Benjamin Medinets (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Now i never knew that! (...) I guess 8 wide (9 for that matter) helps, and i may build one! Josh (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: what is the rarest train set?

(...) What about 7745 & 7725 (i still havn't found 7725 on e-bay to see how much they are running at). Josh (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: what is the rarest train set?

(...) I think Crocodile engine is more rarer and tends to always sell high on E-bay...if you add the club Car to the Metroliner and you are always going to have to pay big bucks.... what about the Airport Shuttle...it is a "town" set that always (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: what is the rarest train set?

(...) Another favorite train set that seems to always command a stiff price is the 7740 Intercity Trainset (and very rare!!)....that looks more like it came from Switzerland. Nice overall designed set....especially with two passenger cars... (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

"Jonathan Wilson" <jonwil@tpgi.com.au> wrote in message news:3AD8FA33.5FFE81....com.au... (...) My guess would be 7750, a MIB copy fetched about $800 at eBay.de about a month ago... -Frank (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) I scoped out the green/grey one. You've got some very nice effects there, I like the cornice. Is that just bricks turned 90 degrees? However it *is* a big building. Try some selective compression. Bigger isn't always better. I can see where (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Just gotta love that name, it's such a great pun. Although the car, by rights, ought to be all black. ++Lar (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: what is the rarest train set?

(...) If you're talking about the 9V series only, then the Metroliner set is by far the most sought after set and commands the highest price. The 4551 Crocodile engine comes as a close second. -Harvey (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

what is the rarest train set?

What train set is the rarest or the one that fetches the most money on ebay? (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Why? (...) But then you miss the beauty of the model! The proto actually employs a double tub floor design, which "increases coal hauling capacity by up to 21 tons per car over traditional flat bottomed gondolas" (from their web site). That (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I love the green building, that is a standout model! I should build my bank in that color, it looks like money! Oh well... Josh (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Actully you probly could eliminate the ribs, make it 6 wide, and use the 2x4 curved brick thingys with the 1x4 plate... then you'd have a simple to make coal car (add the ribs for some detail). (...) Personaly i don't really care, as long as (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Thanks, Lar. (Actually, to answer JP, this model would be impossible 6 wide because of the width of the half cylinders). (...) Amen to that-- except that my Coalporter is......9 WIDE! {:^D (count'em;-) -John (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) 6 wide, 8 wide, who cares. It's a great model, period (I've seen it in the flesh, John brought it to the train summit). I think we should let the whole 6-8 thing drop. It's just as bad to rag on someone for making 8 as it is to rag on someone (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) If it was in 6 wide, it'd be a great model :) Nice. Except about 4x too big for my rotary unloader. It does look quite good though, and I would like to congradulate you for making good models, even if they are to the wrong size. (NA stuff (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)
