Re: what is the rarest train set?

(...) If you're talking about the 9V series only, then the Metroliner set is by far the most sought after set and commands the highest price. The 4551 Crocodile engine comes as a close second. -Harvey (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

what is the rarest train set?

What train set is the rarest or the one that fetches the most money on ebay? (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Why? (...) But then you miss the beauty of the model! The proto actually employs a double tub floor design, which "increases coal hauling capacity by up to 21 tons per car over traditional flat bottomed gondolas" (from their web site). That (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pic: New Green Building

(...) I love the green building, that is a standout model! I should build my bank in that color, it looks like money! Oh well... Josh (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Actully you probly could eliminate the ribs, make it 6 wide, and use the 2x4 curved brick thingys with the 1x4 plate... then you'd have a simple to make coal car (add the ribs for some detail). (...) Personaly i don't really care, as long as (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

I am in the middle of building a home train layout with my kids, and am cranking out buildings for the town section. Although most are in various stages of completion, this one is close enough to being finished for a spy shot;-) (URL) earth (...)   Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) Thanks, Lar. (Actually, to answer JP, this model would be impossible 6 wide because of the width of the half cylinders). (...) Amen to that-- except that my Coalporter is......9 WIDE! {:^D (count'em;-) -John (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) 6 wide, 8 wide, who cares. It's a great model, period (I've seen it in the flesh, John brought it to the train summit). I think we should let the whole 6-8 thing drop. It's just as bad to rag on someone for making 8 as it is to rag on someone (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

(...) If it was in 6 wide, it'd be a great model :) Nice. Except about 4x too big for my rotary unloader. It does look quite good though, and I would like to congradulate you for making good models, even if they are to the wrong size. (NA stuff (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Pics: JAC Bethgon Coalporter

Although I built this MOC last year, I never got around to posting pics of it. It is a model of a Johnstown America Corporation's Bethgon Coalporter, a rotary dump hopper. I have posted the MOC and a pic of the proto here: (URL) can read more about (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)
