After my first attempt to build a tram from Turin (http://news.lugnet.com/town/?n=6918), I’ve decided to make another one in the same scale (1:37). The model I’ve chosen is the “Fiat ML 7000”, a tram that I use very often. This tram is about 28 meter long and it is someway more similar to a light rail / underground vehicle.

Before beginning the building, I studied the original projects and I made all the measuring for the Lego scale. Like the “serie 5000” there are two liveries for this tram. An old one (white and gray with orange doors) and the new one (gray, blue and yellow with yellow doors). I like both colors, but for my model I’ve chosen the tram number 7038, the last that run in Turin with the old colors, so it is still with the old colors.

The LEGO model is 94 studs long and can run on the normal 9V tracks, without any problem. It has a single central 9V train motor. The current collector (the pantograph) was inspired from Jorge Jimenez even if I’ve made some changes.

More infos about the Lego and the original model can found there:

I hope you can enjoy it!

Bye, Luca

I really like your trams (I think I might be beconing a bit of a tram-spotter :( ) I especially like the way you aren't afraid to leave gaps in your windscreens to get the right angle/shapes, and I think it works well. Tim (18 years ago, 26-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) All your trams are excellent. I must confess I ripped off one of your Turin trams for my version of the Manchester Metrolink which is the same basic design. I also second Tim David about the gaps. Great work indeed. Tim (18 years ago, 26-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
