  Re: Residential Block/Squad 252

(...) Once again, Mr. Lopes, you amaze me with your creations. If the people at lego had half a brain, they would snatch you up immediately as a creator for lego sets in the much needed revival of the town series. Sometime I need to see these (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.town)

Probuilder Toys R Us sets warning

Hello everyone. I recently purchased the Mega Bloks Probuilders NYC Fire Engine. I highly recommend not purchasing the set, or at least ensuring you have all the pieces so that you are not disappointed like myself. I went to post a review of the set (...) (...) Indeed. Thanks for the extra info guys! (and Eric, I did go look at that site. Many of the paintings didn't come up but the ones that did, made the point nicely, thanks for the link!)... I would agree that earthtones are the colors of reality. (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Residential Block/Squad 252

(...) Eric and Jonathan have explained the reference, but I will expound a little further. I try and create turn of the century period buildings that look as "realistic" as possible, and one of the main ways one can accomplish this is to avoid (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Residential Block/Squad 252

I think John Neal is referring to the "Ashcan School" of painters (turn of the century to about 1920) who often painted slums and city folk in unglamorous but detailed styles. Helpful Web page: (URL) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Residential Block/Squad 252

(...) Add me to the brotherhood of cavernous undetailed buildings. I have done some limited detailing where there is an easily viewable interior section from the exterior. I for one don't believe that Minifigs run around the layout when the lights (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.town)

(...) Hi Brad, thanks! The brown arches protrude by one stud from the rest of the facade. It is quite solid though, there are just enough parts available in the burnt orange color (plates, tiles etc) to make it work. All of the arches are attached (...) (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.town)
