  Re: New street

(...) I'd noticed that. It's very effective. Looks to me like you do the same thing with old brown with sprinklings of new brown too. If you look a misterzumbi's work ((URL) he throws in dark orange too sometimes. (...) Oh that sounds excellent. (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  Re: New street

(...) What I did for the gray building is us a few old gray bricks here and there. The rest is bley. I like the way it looks. I am thinking that down the road I will want to add signage and things and may include graffiti stickers along with that. I (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  Re: New street

--SNIP-- (...) I heard of someone (can't remember who) stocking up on low quality used bricks to use for that sort of thing. It's certainly a cheap way to add texturing. Another possibility would be to use stickers for graffiti but that depends on (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  Re: New street

(...) Thanks! (...) This is precisely the feel I am going for. Excellent link! I just can't bring myself to paint the lego bricks though. (graffiti, burn/smoke marks etc.) I might give a shot at that Bronx auto building with a light yellow body and (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  New street

Here is a folder with a new street that I have been working on for my layout. It leads to and from the burnt-out section of town, underneath a rising elevated subway line.   Re: Mos Eisley Bank & Warehouse

(...) I really dig the roof on the second building (on the right). I love how you utilized the skateboard ramps and the smokestacks look great.   Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Thanks! (...) Well, the arch piece is 3 wide. Using the 1/2 stud offset was the only way I could figure out how to make it work w/o leaving holes towards the top of the arch. It was a little difficult to do, but building in tan made it a (...) (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Looks awesome! One question : was there a specific reason for the 1/2stud offset around the windows? I mean it looks great, specially with the tiles left&right of the door, but was there an actual reason for this obvious builders torture? WRT (...) (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Thanks! (...) And, only taken in a good way. :o) I thought the red might be a little to much, to bright, but I like the way it adds pop! to the facade. thanks again, Jonathan (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Another great building from you Jonathan. The wheel hubs (?) are perfect for the windows and a wonderfully clever use of parts. My favourite bit though is the door. It screams Sesame Street to me in a very good way ;) Tim (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  Brownstone (but, it is tan)

When we first saw the recent firetruck set with the fenders (?) I knew I wanted to use those parts for lintels on a building. I thought they were nearly perfect. I wish they were attached to a plate rather than a brick, but I made it work anyway, (...) (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town) !!
