I haven't been able to check this site for about 10 days, and was suprised
today to see how much has happened.  I got my Mania Mag in the mail later
today, and with it came the first Bionicle DC Comic, and a brochure
advertising the "Build Your Own BIONICLE Website Contest" and the "Search
for the Gold Mask Sweepstakes."  I haven't seen this stuff mentioned in the
US on this site.  Did anyone else get the Bionicle stuff with their Mania?
Here is the stuff that I think is worth noting or hasn't been noted before
to my knowledge:

In the BIONICLE Power Prize Package Grand Prize, on of the prizes is a
"BIONICLE Handheld Game."  I wonder if this is referring to Gameboy game or
a possible seperate self-contained handheld game.

There is a alphabet translation on both the brochure and in the comic book.

The price on the front is $2.25, so that suggests to me that it is probably
different than the UK version that has already been mentioned, which I
assume has a price in pounds.

In the comic, there is a caption saying, "Learn how Pohatu, the Toa of
Stone, found his first Kanohi Mask...at:  www.bionicle.com/pohatu."  I don't
see anything though.

There is mention of the Manas, "fierce predators with power that no single
Toa can withstand...," which I don't think have been directly mention on
bionicle.com yet.

There is a page dedicated to Andy Macdonald, featuring a small Lego mural of
him riding.

In a full page spread about bionicle.com, there is a section titled
"Bionicle Beta Test" stating, "The Toa need your help to succeed.  Come to
our website to see if you qualify for the Beta Test,
www.bionicle.com/betatest/."  This link doesn't seem to be working yet.

The back cover of the comic is an ad for the Upper Deck trading card game.
There will be 3 Toa Theme Decks:  1 - Gali and Pohatu; 2 - Tahu and Kopaka;
3 - Onua and Lewa.
Contents:  40 Tohunga Cards, 14 Mission Cards, 12 Great Mask Cards, 6 Turaga
Cards, 6 Challenge Cards, 2 Toa Cards, 1 Rule Booklet, 1 Legend of Mata Nui
Booklet, 1 Ancient Map of Mata Nui, 2 Toa Mask Markers.  June 2001.

There is a nice Bionicle center spread in Mania Mag with one of the gold
mask clues on it.

Gee, I hope I got the Lego Club form sent in soon enough to get this issue of Mania. The Manas, by the way, are the remote control crab-ish things. Bionicle.com doesn't have them but pictures have been floating around the net for months. (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)
