OK, I found the gear, how do I pick it up/install it? When I click on
it, I am brought back to the ladder. Should the gear appear in the
backpack?

| Michael is right, the missing gear from the pump can appear in four different locations underwater. It's random every time you play. However, I don't believe you need to talk to Nokama before you can find it. It's useful to have the lightstone of (...) (24 years ago, 19-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)
