8448 and 8880 real life counterparts? —Stéphane Simard
Hello all, As the geek I am, yesterday I brought my 8448 car to the office and this morning the 8880. We would not agree over which real life cars were closest to each. I know neither are licensed products, but what real life cars do you think they (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

I'd say Porsche 918 or 928 (I never know which is which) for the 8880. Duq "Stephane Simard" <plague@videotron.ca> wrote in message news:H9896F.I1F@lugnet.com... (...) are (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Close enough. I'm no car buff but do know for sure there are 4x4, rear-motor Porsche around. What about the 8448 ? (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) 928 is a front engine car: (URL) I think the 918 is a racecar...not sure though. 8880 has always reminded me of a poor Lamborghini Diablo replica, mostly because of the shape of the windsheild and side windows. The Diablo VT is a mid-engine (...) (21 years ago, 25-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

     I have to disagree... I'd say the 8880 is much more Lamborghini-esque than Porche-like ... "Duq" <lugnetpost@skipthis...tmfweb.nl> wrote in message news:H98IH7.2tE@lugnet.com... (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

The 8448 is indeed most like a Ferrari, the front engined Maranello. The 8880 is closest to an all-wheel drive Porsche - I don't know which model number that is. The 8466 is the Ford EX concept. Well there it is...don't say otherwise. ---...--- (...) (21 years ago, 25-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

8466 real life counterpart —Stéphane Simard
(...) I looked at pictures of that SWEET looking vehicle on the net... you couldn't be more right. All it needs is green silver body color! I wish I had the money to buy a Ford EX concept, it looks beyond cool. :) (21 years ago, 25-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) ... balloon tires and those cool gullwing doors! That makes me ask "Where in the world can you see balloon tires in real-world cars (cars that anyone uses, not special cars)?" And also, all these supercars (8448,8466,8865 and 8880) and the F1 (...) (21 years ago, 27-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) it was in fact special car but some time ago toyota did cars to reach the north pole and they (3 of them) had speccial low pressure tires i saw them on discovery (but as i said they were special cars) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)
