  Re: hovercraft

(...) Wow! I never thought Lego could fly ...and less if the propellers are traditional plates... I gotta buy a motor and add "drive" (horizontal motion) to the hovercraft (22 years ago, 1-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: hovercraft

(...) Try Brickshelf: (URL) you can, please convert the files to mpeg since mov-files is not supported by default on most computers. (...) Hey, I'm surprised it flies at all. The LEGO motor has only 0.007 HP on 9V. (...) Agreed! "Real" hovercrafts (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: hovercraft

(...) I've never seen a Technic hovercraft before, and for some reason I'd never thought about it. I like the idea a lot! The model looks similar to the SR-N1 that Saunders-Roe built, and even more similar to their concept model: (URL) of course (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: hovercraft

Ok, just saw the pics. ...and you did it with a LEGO propeller ! WOW! :) (...) I think I'll have to make a much more flexible and long "skirt" like yours. Mine was half short and more rigid, so that's why it leaks more air. I'm also trying first to (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: hovercraft

(...) <snip> (...) Very nicely done! I tried the 8475 motors with the ZNAP props and it didn't generate a good enough force of air. Back to the drawing board! Keep up the great work! Dave K (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: hovercraft

(...) there's hope to achieving a nearly 100% lego solution. I've been playing with a prop design some, and despite not testing it yet I thought I'd post it in case it generates some other ideas, and see if anyone has any engineering knowledge on (...)   Re: hovercraft

when i was testing some new concepts of propellor i found that i had a very much luck :)) because when i did prop with bigger (longer) wings they set more resistance so the motor rotates slower so it puts less air when blades were shorter then press (...) (...) One of the benefits of being a PC Technician is you get lot's of computers OnLine and often get 30 minutes of "spare" time waiting for installations or simply don't have any work assigned for the moment. /Tobbe (22 years ago, 31-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic)
