Hi all,

I've just picked up one of those by-the-pound pile of bricks from an ebay
auction. It includes the 2840 Technic Control Center
console(http://peeron.com/inv/parts/2840b) that came with the first Technic
Control Center set - 8094 (http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8094).

Now, as some of you might know, this first version of the console runs on
batteries only. The second version, included in set 8485
(http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8485) had an outlet to plug in a regular Lego
transformer which could in turn get power from a regular wall outlet.

But this earlier version does have two cable ends sticking out of the two
holes used to latch the battery cover shut. I've uploaded a picture to
brickshelf.

So, my question is: does anybody know what those two cables are? Has anybody
connected a Lego transformer to them? Is there anything inside the Control
Center console that I could burn by doing it? Any ideas?

BTW, I could get another console. And I will probably end up doing so. But
they are hard to come by; tend to be pricey and I want both to be able to
connect to wall outlets. Evironmental concerns (that for once are actually
convenient) over-rule my innane highly purists thoughts about modifying Lego
elements =8D (Planet first, Lego second)

Thanks,

Miguel Agullo

(...) I think these are not original, so you will have to open the case to see where they end. This will tell you what you can safely do with them. Or if not, you can post another pic of the opened case ... Greetings Horst (22 years ago, 11-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
