Re: Technic Parallel-Motor Assembly Question —Ross Crawford
(...) I understand totally! The problem you've got is reducing friction. The un-geared motors are worse, because your speed reduction train will inevitably have much more friction than the reduction box Lego put in the geared motors. I ended up also (...)      (...) Six to eight! you really are raving mad! :-) (...) So are you saying then, that 2 motors with 2 battery boxes gives the most torque? Because I was led to beleive it didn't matter. Steve (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic Parallel-Motor Assembly Question —Jason S. Mantor
nah. That ain't mad. *MAD* is when you put 8 of the new gearmotors in parrallel, gear them down and power them with a pair of 9.6V RC battery packs. The resulting dual-differential drive, tracked robot chassis can move quite a bit of weight with no (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

I can just imagine, Nicad RC Batteries put out far more power than standard AA Alkalines etc. Don't last as long though.          Re: Technic Parallel-Motor Assembly Question —Jason S. Mantor
I used the "rubber" tracks like the ones that come with the RIS. They shake the chassis something awful at high speeds, though. The pics from the onboard VC look like you're driving it through the epicenter of an earth quake : ) I'm thinking of (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic Parallel-Motor Assembly Question —Steve Lane
(...) The shaking is caused by the rib on the track going over the wheel. When the ribs dead centre the vehicle will be at it's highest point as the vehicle lifts itself onto the rib. As the rib moves away the vehicle 'falls' back onto the (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic Parallel-Motor Assembly Question —Tobbe Arnesson
