It's a very elegant prototype!
I've built a couple of prototypes based on the same principle myself,
but I have to admit that my prototypes were a lot bigger and less
elegant. I only used the 12 teeth bevel gears, not the 20 teeth that
you use. I don't think the 20 teeth were available at that time.
The idea of using the old style steering gear as a basis is very
clever!

| Hi, I've found a way to build a small car with steering and drive on the front axle. Right now, all I have is a prototype which uses some of the smallest Technic wheels (marked 30.4x14). The "car" is only 8 studs wide between its wheels. You can see (...) (24 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.technic)
