| | | | (...) You are right, the chain drives a axle with no function. It's only decoration. Because the large tires the differential isn't turning very fast and thus the engine rpm is also not very high. By head I think the 8865 has one of the fastest (...) | | | | | (...) The stub shaft is supposed to represent a Cam shaft (as far as I can tell :). It is geared to 1/2 engine speed (which is right for a 4 stroke) James (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Yeah, 8865 has a very fast engine which looks even faster since the pistons are the old large ones, although I think 8868 is slightly faster (gear ratios are the same, wheels are smaller). In contrast some sets like (...) (24 years ago, 11-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)
