Just picked up a copy of this set at WalMart in San Jose and being the LEGO
maniac that I am put it together eagerly last night in a couple of hours.
Now I usually don't complain too much about Lego's set designs but this set
baffles me with regard to color.  I don't understand why Lego used so much
black in this set, especially on the head when they could have and IMO
should have used gold.  The stickers are also annoying because some cover
multiple pieces and some go on curved survaces (i.e. C3PO's feet)which don't
affix very well.  I wish Lego would confine stickers to single pieces that
have flat surfaces.
On the positive end I will say this set gets good points for parts (ball
joints are cool!) and function.
All in all, its not a horrible set but I'm left wishing I could replace some
of these black pieces with gold ones.  The only other set I can think of off
the top of my head with ANY gold is Throwbot Millenia and if memeory serves
me, that set only has 2 or 3 pieces.

(...) I agree. The black pieces make the set look more like an Episode I C-3PO than an Original Trilogy C-3PO. (...) I ended up having to trim the feet stickers because they kept peeling off. Lego should have just made the two pieces that the feet (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)
