Second Hand (Re: Original Clock Design)

I was thinking the same thing when I saw Issac Merkle's two-axles through a turntable. The second hand would have to be run off of the differential cage, because the minutes would be hard to sync since they would be advanced depending on what hour (...)   Re: Pneumatic pressure measuring devices

First we need to know the pressure range normally encountered in LEGO pneumatics. The hand pump ...measure the piston diameter and get the area. Then measure the force on the pump when adequate pressure has been reached. Then calculate pounds per (...) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Axle joiner angles

(...) Yes. (...) No. There are 16 splines, and the axle joiners come in increments of 360/16=22.5 degrees. (...) If you mean the single angle beam ((URL) angle is related to a 3/4/5 triangle, so that the longer side becomes the 5-side of the (...) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Original Clock Design

That looks great, Amnon! You may also be able to get a second hand, using the "diff thru the large turntable" technique. Check out Jennifer Clarke's excavator for the details. Might look a bit cludgy, though... (URL) Silverstein <amnon@best.com> (...) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-00, to lugnet.technic)

Announcing the Seattle Mindstorms and Robotic Techies

After the November 6th "Workshop 3D LEGO RCX Challenge" in Seattle, Gus Jansson and I decided it was time to start a LEGO Robot specific group in this area. Well, it's about a month later, and we're through talking, time for some action! So this is (...)   Original Clock Design

I have a working draft of a weight-powered pendulum clock made of Lego. I keep improving it all the time, and I am going to make it strike the hours, but right now here is what I have. It runs for 8 hours, it tells time, it can be rewound with a (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Pneumatic pressure measuring devices

Does anyone know of an air pressure gauge that is compatible with the Lego pneumatic system? If such an item exists, where can I buy it? I'm working on a school project which involves Lego air compressors and I need a way to accurately measure the (...) (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Axle joiner angles

Oops. It looks like in your list you exchanged the labels of #3 and #5. And it occurs to me that the splines had to be set so that the half bushings could be pushed together and lock when on the same axle. I would have to take a look to see if that (...)   Re: Code Pilot is Fantastic RCX add-on!

And I just got one for my Birthday! It took coaching a FIRST LEGO League team, but I *finally* have my parents (and my in-laws) convinced that 33 is NOT too old for LEGO :-) -Peter Coach, FLL Team #1096: The Unibots #2 in California State (...)   Re: Does anyone have the Comborider instructions?

Hi, you should still be able to download them from here: (URL) you have any trouble I have them, but they are large.
