The shocks in the Silver Champion ARE stiffer. The lever action is just how
they happen to be used in the "Silver Champion" instructions. Or did I not
understand your point? They are used without any lever action in the "Silver
Truck" instructions. I am relying on these new yellow shocks to support a
truck's worth of cab and payload on a 8448-style chassis.

I think it's the other way around: The new ones off the 8448 are more
rigid than the old light grey ones.

In stead, one may try the new shocks off the Silver Champion.  They
are even more rigid than the ones off 8448, or so they say.
