  Re: super cars

(...) I remember that too, and remember thinking it looked pretty dodgy. I tried to make a similar type of body for the 8860 at the time, which looked equally dodgy. To be honest, I think the only really viable bodywork for those cars is the type on (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) It occured to me that you can drill a hole in the 8 tooth gear in the same size as the one in the 16 tooth ditto. Not a "pure" LEGO solution but still a solution. Congrats on the Cool LEGO site of the week award, you deserved it! (URL) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Hello Ross Ross Crawford <rcrawford@csi.com> schreef in berichtnieuws G1tt5A.4y7@lugnet.com... (...) holes (...) I think you are looking at those old train motors.   My Lego planetary gear

I was working on transmission ideas, and I came up with a cute planetary. It can produce several different types of output, and it is typically used in transmissions. My implementation is compact, and doesn't use too many parts. I'm not sure that it (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: super cars

You are correct to remember that Lego offered a suggestion to modify the 956. One photograph appeared on the front cover of the instruction books for all of the first series of Expert Builder sets and towards the back three additional photographs (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Black old style motor

Tobbe, IIRC, the 12V motor was similar to the old 4.5V motor (around the same vintage), of which I have one, and which is similar in power to the 9V geared motors. The 4.5V one (and I think the 12V one also?) only has 4 holes for the really old (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Who's that?

Who is that guy in the duel bikes? Does anyone have a closeup? Does he have green eyes? I saw it in a tiny picture once. (25 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: super cars

(...) Me too! I guess it's because I'm Scandinavian, and we have had a lot of Volvo 24x around here. And there was also the Technic idea book in which they had a modified 956. It had a "station wagen" body which reminded me pretty much of the Volvo. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

RE: Anyone know what parts are in the Klutz LEGO book?

Re: Anyone know what parts are in the Klutz LEGO book?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll stick to getting the RIS upgrade, extra motor and rotation sensor for the moment and wait a little longer for more Technic parts - I'm trying to find things my girlfriend can buy me for my birthday, she's already (...)   Re: super cars

(...) The 956 always reminded me of a Volvo estate car from the Seventies, for some reason. Perhaps it was the foldy cushion bit in the back seat? :-) Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Anyone know what parts are in the Klutz LEGO book?

There are some bricks, plates, axles, gears, etc. As Ralph noted, not a great value for parts only. It is a great little book for the up and coming tinkerer. The only parts worth mentioning are the 40 tooth gears. -- -Rob. ===...=== New sets and (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: super cars

(...) Whether or not the 8860 is based on the Porsche 911 I have no idea, but it is certainly a similar layout. It is also not a million miles away from a Volkswagen Beetle, but then, if my memory serves me well, neither is a Porsche 911 :-) (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

RE: Anyone know what parts are in the Klutz LEGO book?

Anyone know what parts are in the Klutz LEGO book?

I've just noticed that there is a book by Klutz Press called LEGO Crazy Action Contraptions, ISBN 1570541574, that contains 60 Technic pieces. Does anyone know what parts come with this book? Is it worth spending £13 on it just for the parts? Dan (25 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

The 8448 looks like a 4th gen Camaro to me. Front engine, V8, convertible, mag wheels, with the secret white plastic seat option you can only get through Lego-Chevy dealerships. The Lego version has more cup holders than the Chevy, and costs about (...) (25 years ago, 1-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)
