Re: Problem with the 8458 web extras

(...) Hi, I have downloaded the software too. The program asked me for my username and password. When I click OK I get the message: That is a new username. Would you like to connect to the server to confirm login? When I click Yes I get the message: (...) (25 years ago, 24-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Robo Riders on sale at Zellers

I like the way that TLG made the decorative parts also have some interesting mechanical functions. The double-gear thing and the worm cage look like they have to be useful for some robotic projects. (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: new LEGO elements (inside the Technic Powerpacks)

(...) Yes, that's the front wheel from the 8417 Motorcycle. It's really cool. I'm happy to see them again, thinking perhaps they had gone into oblivion with the 8417... Fredrik (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

  New 9V motor

What do you think about the new motor with integrated battery box? I think it looks too big to put in some models, and too expensive to put in smaller ones. But hey, maybe it's good, I don't know. --Tobias (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Anyone getting PowerPacks?

(URL) thinking of getting the 5220 and 5219, to spice up the designs of my robots. I've never used the kind of pieces that come in silver in 5220, are they good or bad? --Tobias (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

RE: Robo Riders on sale at Zellers

I bought 4 Swamp robo-riders (and the useless wheels, had to rig a way to turn them with an axle) for $20 from Zainy Brainy. They are having a 20-50% off lego sale. I even talked them into discounting the Dark Side Development kit 20% by say "but I (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Robo Riders on sale at Zellers

(...) normally (...) I didn't think much of it either. I want to see them knocked down to $5 Canadian. They're only like 30-some pieces! (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: new LEGO elements (inside the Technic Powerpacks)

(...) Yep, I noticed the new pieces and the discrepancy as well. The 3 rounded full beams in light grey and black are okay, but I'd like to see that grey element (it's also shown in the part scans in the newest US catalog). It looks (as you (...)   Re: Robo Riders on sale at Zellers

(...) normally (...) I think he means CA$8.00, not US$8.00. Today CA$8.00 is about US$5.41, so YES, that's better than the average $5.99 at Toys R Us. - Sean (25 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

(...) I now see what you mean and I'll look into it over the weekend! Thanks! Sincerely, /Tobbe (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

(...) That is an blurry picture indeed! It's impossible for me to make things out of it... Dang... (...) Well, the thickness should not be a problem. The propeller blade will have a length of 96mm or 12 studs, that's the radius for the prop folks ;) (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

(...) Thanks! Taken out of my mind I think the spinner was supposed to be around 32mm in diameter and the cone is a little to pointy, I have to look into this, thanks for the idea Jennifer! Thank God I can go home now, work has been terrible, as (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

RE: Six bladed propeller, all in line - no problem

(...) I've noticed that 1x plates attached to the holes of a 6 hole pulley don't move around very much. So to make a propellor, (with 3 blades offset by one or two plates), attach 3 1x plates to a pulley so they stick straight out. Do the same on (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

(...) cone such as the yellow one found on the exhaust (?) of the 8860 supercar could make a good spinner as well - although it would be better in black or grey, of course. Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

(...) No no... It's built from the basic parts like 6-hole small technic pulleys, 1/2 pins and regular plates. This simple design dated from early 1980's, there was no such propellers exist at that time. Look at the picture (URL) for a fuzzy and (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: new LEGO elements (inside the Technic Powerpacks)

Hi Christian --- xTI@N. thanks for your scans! That gives a good view on the service packs. I will go for the styling- and the pneumatic-set! Keep on bricking! Kind regards, Holger (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

Re: Six bladed propeller, all in line - no problem

(...) Et voila indeed! Hope I had the eight 3 blade rotors needed, do they come in black? I have to see if I can find a good source for them. Se my other answer in the original thread for my latest idea. Thanks! TGIF! /Tobbe (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)
