Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

Thanks all! I'll answer you one by one. Geoffrey, I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean *blush*. Are you refering to the 1x4 plate with a hole in each end with "notches" around the hole and some half-bushings? This solution would make the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, all in line - no problem

Use indeed 2 Technic 3-bladed rotor parts, put on each blade 3 Technic half-beams (with rounded ends) and put the rotor parts on an axle, face to face, turned 180 degrees. Voila, plain and simpel, all propellor blades in line, further enlargements (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

new LEGO elements (inside the Technic Powerpacks)

  Re: Those big 8457 tires...

(...) I got my ruler out and can accurately say--4.0" diameter, 2 3/8" depth--these tires are exciting--the kit is way too yellow for me, not part intensive enough--me personally, I don't think I'd pay $100 essentially for the tires-- but geez (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Those big 8457 tires...

I called LEGO Consumer Affairs to get the measurements on those tires. She told me 4.5 inches in diameter by 2.5 inches depth. Is that correct? I want to buy 4 of those tires for a MOC I'm working on but I don't want to pay $200 for 2 sets :( What (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Those big 8457 tires...

Wow, I had read descriptions, but it's hard to realize how big these tires are until you get a kit. Each tire bigger than an adult handful.   Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

Tobbe, You could possibly use 2 of the Technic 3 bladed rotor parts, rotated 180 degrees from each other. This gives 6 blades, but 3 of them are set back 1 plate's depth. You could possibly build them up a bit to be even. The Technique 3 blade rotor (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

I can't figure out right know if it is possible or not, but there is a 3-blade configuration (designed around 1981-2, which is obsolete now since the 3-Blade technic rotor part have been introduced) which can be a starting point or at least (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Six bladed propeller, pls help.

Well ... That is the only thing I can think (...) (25 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Six bladed propeller, pls help.

Hey, Check out my page www.lcs.net/users/oglewood/ Go under "lego Ideas" and click on the two speed transmission. Also, I have tried it with four speeds (R-1-2-3) but it gets too big after that.
