Hmmm, I just spoke to both (800) 453-4652 and (800) 835-4386, and both said
that the kit wouldn't street (at least in the US) until September 15.

| (...) Correction, I just called (800) 835-4386 and they definitely DO have them in supply for $99. I'll be holding off until I see it sitting in Toys R Us. It was the Power Puller (8457) and Formula I Racer (8458) that are not in stock. - Sean (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
