I’ll probably take some videos and more pictures over the weekend, so if there is any aspect you’d like a close-up of, let me know...

Chris

Nice Build!

Which PF cables are you using? are they your own or the Lego Long PF cables?

Do you have any cables passing through the turntable or are you running two (or more) independent systems? with multiple battery boxes?

Parax.

Thanks Parax!

Actually they are my own home brew versions. I can’t find a retailer here in Oz, that sells the extension cable, and the $30 shipping is a little steep for 3 cables. You can find a step-by-step guide on how I made them on brickshelf http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=350906 The bonus with my cables is that they can be routed in places an official one couldn’t (way thinner & slightly less wide).

Yes I have both drive motor cables passing through the turntable, but I still can get 2 full turns in both directions before the cable twist becomes too tight. So I figured this wasn’t too bad. The model is powered by only the one battery box located in the rear superstructure.

Chris.

Nice job on the cables, I like the lil ribons, the mod looks tricky with the tiny pins/connectors though!

I thought you may have used these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=58118 I’ll wait until Lego release them in more places... I know they are stupidly rare at present! I wouldn’t bother buying the current extension cables they are stupidly short! (I used 3 in my tower crane, over less than 12 inches!)

I like your mod on the ‘Axle Joiner Perpendicular 3L with 4 Pins’ I have managed to avoid cutting so far! but I think Lego ought to make that Piece!

As for the wiring Just dont loose count of your turns!

Parax.
