Re: Chain Precession Drive - Courtesy of TechnicBRICKs

(...) It is almost too simple, but it is a complex principle. Im glad you liked it! Parax. aka Mike. (17 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Power Functions remote control Thumbstick - new challenge

(...) Okay, thanks for the recommendations everyone. But having done this, I now have a new challenge (besides doing a better one of these, anyway). Can you make a mechanical tank controller thumbstick? It should take in up/down/left/right (...) (17 years ago, 18-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: RSRA-2008

(...) Ready for the show tomorrow, we did final testing today: (URL) E.M. We sought some expert advice, and here are the status notes: We managed to run both arms. I would say the test is 90% successful. We left it running for about 5 minutes. It (...) (17 years ago, 18-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Power Functions remote control Thumbstick, with instructions

This is my design for a thumbstick (joystick) for the Power Functions remote control handset. I forgot about this until prompted, so here it is. It's a two-axis joystick that lets you move the stick up/down/left/right and operate the two IR RC (...) (17 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX) !!

Re: Power Function control with RCX and BrickOS

(...) Hey Bob I have just tested your code, and it works good. But is it possible that you could write some documentation to your code, it would be nice to fully understand what your doing.   Some questions on batteries and AC power for lego

There seems to be a difference between the voltage outputs of battery boxes and wall powered sources like the train speed regulators. From just listening to the sounds that motors make, a battery box puts out the same voltage as a speed regulator on (...) (17 years ago, 15-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: RSRA-2008

(...) Nice work, Eric and Ian. Elegant in its simplicity. Any chance of posting a movie of it in action? Cheers Richie Dulin (17 years ago, 15-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: RSRA-2008

In preparation for our (URL) Q&A / display during Engineer's Week at the Liberty Science Center, for the FLL Expo, (JCNJ), Ian and I have created a simple ball return system. Basically a set of ramps that the RSRA can interact with. Whereas, as one (...) (17 years ago, 14-Feb-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: PF IR RC protocol released! - NXC

(...) Many thanks John and Jason for your work on this. I am a comparative newbie to NXC programming but I have my NXT working like a PF IR remote handset now that I set up the sensor correctly! NXC has given me the programming environment to (...) (17 years ago, 5-Feb-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) Many thanks John and Jason for your work on this. I have been using the NXC functions to control PF IR receivers from my NXT. TLG has just released the following information: "We have been testing the LPF RC Receiver today and discovered an (...)   Re: Power Functions infra-red RC protocol released!

(...) It looks like the PF IR receiver will be very useful for train control and other continuous duty applications. But the only remote available is for intermittent operation. So the only LEGO option to running in PWM/continuous duty is to use a (...) (17 years ago, 31-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Phoenix

(...) Yes, I really like those wheels, also. (...) So, they are friction pins at least. And it gives the drive some slip, to help it turn better. Very nice Steve (17 years ago, 12-Feb-08, to lugnet.town, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Phoenix

(...) Thank you so much! Since I love both 'regular' bricks and technic I try my best to combine the two, and this was a very satisfying attempt. The normal bricks only go one stud deep (at some places less), what's inside is basically a pure (...) (17 years ago, 12-Feb-08, to lugnet.town, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Phoenix

(...) Very nice. I'm curious about the drive wheels for the tractor. It appears you're using wheels with pin holes, not cross-axle holes. Is that correct, or did you swap out the wheels for different pictures? In any case, it's very nice. Steve (17 years ago, 12-Feb-08, to lugnet.town, lugnet.technic)
