Re: Another Theo Jansen style LEGO Walker

(...) Good point. I've only seen the Jansen "strandbeest" walkers go in a straight line. (Seems dangerous for a beach cerature to have no way to avoid walking into the water ;-) In my design, the connection between the left and right halves of the (...)   Re: Another Theo Jansen style LEGO Walker

Hi Steve, very interesting design and a great video, too. Maybe I am missing part of the whole point here, but with the crankshaft allowing for single-motor drive, how would this beast move anywhere else but straight ahead? Just asking because I am (...)   Another Theo Jansen style LEGO Walker

Hi, I just ran across Chis Mango's thread about Theo Jansen style walkers (Oct. 2007) and Thomas Johnson's (Feb. 2006). One of the videos Chris referenced was a design I did in June 2007. I took a different approach from Chris and Philippe and used (...) (17 years ago, 4-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX) !

8272 Snowmobile named in Canadian Toy Testing Council's list of best toys

A friend sent me this link: (URL) CTTC also asks about 1,000 children test toys in their own homes for six to 12 weeks and then asks the families to provide a report of which are the most fun, and innovative. Among the Top 10 Children's Choice picks (...) (17 years ago, 3-Jan-08, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.announce, lugnet.technic)

Re: New TECHNIC sets for Fall 2008

(...) That's one of my dreams too! To have PF based pneumatic control valves :). And longer pneumatics, why not!? Lets keep fingers crossed, LEGO is certainly reading ;). As Markus Kossman said in interview "...we are still working on the PF system (...) (17 years ago, 2-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: What would YOU like to see from TECHNIC?

(...) I'd like a Technic figure industrial railway. You could use plastic track but with flat ends so you could make things like rotary dumpers without leaving a gap at the end of the rails. And being plastic it could be left outdoors. Every year (...) (17 years ago, 2-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  8275 Tow hitch

I'd like 2008 to be a great year for my Lego building, and I wanted to release something on the first day of the year, but I haven't got anything big ready. Something I have built though is a tow hitch. (URL) By removing the four pins of the 8275's (...) (17 years ago, 1-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: What would YOU like to see from TECHNIC?

(...) After reading all of the posted replies to what “we” the enthusiasts would want to see from Lego Technic I wish to go on record supporting some of my colleges vehicle ideas and list a few of my own. However, as per several of the posted (...) (17 years ago, 1-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New TECHNIC sets for Fall 2008

(...) Hmmm they sound like they could be good. Ill have to wait till I see some pictures. The excavator and telescopic handler are good opportunities for longer pneumatics and power function based pneumatic control valves and the off roader could (...) (17 years ago, 1-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Interview with Markus Kossmann

(...) What a great way to start 2008. I found the interview really interesting, 8275 is my current favourite set (although I'm itching to see the new excavator). I haven't been able to properly test the new track system yet but their is snow (...) (17 years ago, 1-Jan-08, to lugnet.technic)
