My latest avenue of lego research is lego firing. I am trying to make a
contraption using only lego peices that will fire a small projectile (eg a
black friction peg) as far as possible. At first I tried to use springs, but
the results were very disapointing. I am having the most success now with two
8448 tyres in a 'tennis ball launcher' design, being powered by direct
friction with a large wheel hub on an old 9v motor. I can get a couple of
meters range from about 1/2 a meter high. How can you do?

| (...) David A. Karr made a LEGO machine gun that can fire 17 2x4s in 1.9 secs. See it at: (URL) . Alan (URL) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) I experimented with this a while ago. I managed to fire a 10 stud axle about 5 meters using an elastic band setup with a beam stricking the axle. However, this didn't give a very gun-like contraption, and I never quite perfected a trigger (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.technic)
