Don't worry about it - this is great stuff.

This is my first SERIOUS attempt at a MOC... built primarily out of parts from
last year's plane set (can't remember the set no. - it's the one with tilting
wings and popout landing gear).

I also had that set. I didn't think the plane was so bad- great for
part harvesting. I have already thrown the plane kit parts into my
general pool of Lego, but I have started considering set-bashing the
truck myself.

I bought the set, built it, and then quickly realised that I didn't like it.
So... dismembered for parts it was.

The car has a V6 engine (which is tilted, pointing down to the front), a
steering system working on the principal of the 8436 truck, opening
bonnet/hood,
opening boot/trunk, and doors that open upwards. The doors use suspension
springs that both hold the door closed, and push it open.

Those delorian style doors are beautiful. With regards to the steering
- you mean the actual drivers wheel is not connected in? Its a shame
that many recent technic models have stopped doing that - I always
considered it a nice touch. Still the wheel looks somewhat more suited
than the flight yoke style used in the Menace or the Valve style on
the truck.

You might notice the
bionicle swords used for the side-steps - I think they look pretty nifty, but
that's just one person's opinion.

The bionacle swords give it some good curves. Something about your
design makes it feel more tangible than the nitro-menace, which felt a
bit too much frame without flesh.

All the gears work smoothly, no crunching...

Anyway, would love to hear what you all think...

Cheers

Good stuff Chase,
I hope to see more!

(...) Yeah, it's a shame about the driver's steering. Unfortunately, and I'm sure this is a common problem, it's a simple case of insufficient room. The block holding the dashboard side of the engine actually forms part of the dashboard, which (...) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.technic)
