Those sets (along with a lot of others) are at the Whitfield LEGO store near
Chicago. Close ups on the box show the axles as non-uniform - that is, near each
end of the looong axle is a ring or ridge, similar to (but smaller radius) the
#5 with stud. More specificly, while these axles would appear to thread through
a hole in a beam (and turn just fine), you could *not* slide a piece with an
axle hole (a bushing, for instance) from one end to the other. The middle of the
axle appears "off limits" in this regard. Still, interesting piece, but I didn't
buy a set just to get the axle(s).
I *do* have to confess I bought a Clikits - it turns out my almost-4-yr-old
daughter just loves it (to the point where she fell asleep with it). And
thankfully they still have some 14 stud long technic beams (red only, I think).

| Hello Duq (...) I haven't seen mentioned in here. I have seen those on pictures too, but I haven't seen the sets yet. Haven't thought about it actually. Have you? do they work? I hope these axles can stand some torsion... If so then they are great (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-04, to lugnet.technic)
