Does anyone have any suggestions for a minifig scale crawler crane? I plan to build one and wouldn't mind getting some info from someone who has tried to build one or has built one. Does anyone know any websites with one? (21 years ago, 27-Nov-03, to lugnet.technic)

Mmmm... i'm not exactly the expert in cranes (in fact, I've never built one), but I think you can use 2x4 plates instead of the 1x4 plates (this way you can get a solid boom instead of a parallelogram).. like this: (URL) (...) Yes it does, but without the 2x4s, your boom will be able to shear - ie the parallelogram created by the beams & 1x4 plates only has friction holding it square, and a long boom built that way may fail.
