Re: New MOC: Backhoe fully Remote Controlled

Nice one. I really dig the mudguards. But I think you have cheated, the blade can't tilt or rotate. :) /Pehter (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New MOC: Backhoe fully Remote Controlled

(...) This is a common request, I'll have to do a page about it someday :) Meanwhile here's a few hints: I glued a medium pulley wheel to the servo dish. Yes, glue! *shiver* Then it's a pretty simpel task of embracing the servo with LEGO. In this (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New MOC: Backhoe fully Remote Controlled

(...) LOL! No, I wont. Unlike crane builders I wont need it :þ (j/k) (...) Yeah, the cab has a few studs between the "shell" and the control tower where the spaghetti mess fits. It took some tinkering with the hoses though... I've realised that a (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Great model, I would like more information about how you attached the wheels to the servos, and how you put the servos in the model. -Chuck (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New MOC: Backhoe fully Remote Controlled

(...) I guess you don't get a bonus point for 100% Lego remote control 8?( Great model. I like the stabilisers, too. It's funny looking at the progress shots with all those wires & hoses looking like spaghetti, then all neat & tidy in the final (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: New MOC: Backhoe fully Remote Controlled

(...) Thanks! (...) I'm sure you'll beat me - this is my first MOC that is supposed to look like something although it's not a scale model. (...) I would not know anything about 24 - until June :) (...) I intend to :) /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

New MOC: Backhoe fully Remote Controlled

FUT: lugnet.technic Hi all! I've finished my new MOC; A backhoe digger. Some quick facts: Weight: Approx. ~4kg (8.818lb) Total length (including blade and backhoe {folded}): ~79cm (31.102") Height cab roof -> ground: ~27cm (10.630") Width: 24cm (...)   Re: How much can you shrink a dual differential drive?

(...) Thanks a lot, Rosco. I think I'm going to go with Stefano Prosseda's variation, which you also mention on your webpage (URL) clearly didn't quite understand the concept and now see how my design had way too many gears only to accomplish (...)   Re: Technic MOTM needs a new name.

This thread got me thinking. As you may or may not know, my site is called 'LEGO on my Mind'. (URL) visual motto of this site has always been a picture of a man with bricks for brains. After it had been around a couple of years, another site (...) (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: How much can you shrink a dual differential drive?

(...) snip (...) Here's yet another shrunken dual differential design. It uses worm gears to drive both differential housings as a space saving measure. This also the adds the feature (?) of a bit more gear reduction. There's a few pics of the (...) (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: How much can you shrink a dual differential drive?

(...) Excellent color coding in your pics. Regrettably, I have no practical advice. When I built the differential drive in Dave Baum's book, I was dumbfounded by the principle. I look forward to to seeing what is clearly a demanding project. - Kyle (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  One year major update

Let me know what you all think! Also I have added a survey, maybe to see if its possible to make alittle "voice" to TLC, and see if this voice can change things, who knows? anyway, keep on surfing jt www.legotrucks.com (23 years ago, 20-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: How much can you shrink a dual differential drive?

(...) Well, I think several people have delved into this, but here's my contribution (URL) It doesn't solve the "dual speed" problem, but it's fairly small, and can be reduced further. ROSCO (23 years ago, 19-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

How much can you shrink a dual differential drive?

Hi all, I've got an intriguing little MOC coming up that hopefully will interest both the technicheads and the robogeeks. It is a tracked vehicle with a twist, but you'll have to wait to learn all the details ;-) In the meantime, here is something I (...) (23 years ago, 19-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
