  Erroded axles

Hallo to everyone first, sorry to all language purists, it's not my native language. I like treaded vehicles so i built very simple one using rubber treads from RIS 1.5 set. ( actually it was "tank" very similar to "dozer" from RIS 1.0, but without (...) (23 years ago, 11-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Pneumatics: the old and the new

Very nice design. I don't have access to old style pneumatic cylinders, but was thinking of doing something similar with the new double acting cylinders. Because I don't have a check valve in the new pneumatics that would allow me to store vacuum, I (...) (23 years ago, 10-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: A very inspiring design

Very cool. Should be able to do it with two motors. I wonder how he sync's the left and right feet. It doesn't look like any sensors are used, or am I missing the wires? I am inspired. P.S. I was also inspired by hammerhead. Since I only had the 9v (...) (23 years ago, 10-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build)

  Re: A very inspiring design

(...) Hey, I said *inspiring* ;-) Actually, if you're familiar with Hammerhead (a MOC on my site) or other ankle-bending bipeds, you'll see how Joe has come up with new aand refreshing solutions for this kind of robots. If you're not so specialized (...) (23 years ago, 10-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build)

  A very inspiring design

Hi all, This new robot by Joe Nagata integrates so many solutions in such a simple design that I have little doubt it will be as instantly inspiring to many of you as it has been to me.   Re: Single acting pneumatics with spring return

(...) True, but there is one notable difference, as others have pointed out before: When compressiong air, the pressure difference is limited only by implementation details. The pressure inside the tank usually is not just slightly higher than (...) (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Technic MOTM needs a new name.

(...) He's alive! All this time I've been mis-pronouncing "loog-net" over and over in my head, just to flush him out. All we had to do was use his name in vain! KL P.S. just kidding about the "loog-net" thing :) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic MOTM needs a new name.

To be honest, if I went looking for something called the Technic MOTM, I'd probably go to ldraw.org first to find it. So, I think you can call it what you want, but something else might be better. "MoTEC" just sounds so cool, how can you resist? (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Technic MOTM needs a new name.

I actually think L-Draw is in the wrong here. They use the 'MOTM' meaning Model of the Month..we all know that. My case is, Lego is used to create 'Models'.. L-Draw is a cad, graphics system, which in my eys does not create lego models at all. You (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Strengthening Gears

Hi Louis, (and all), I certainly don't dispute your explanation of the casting process, not at all - in fact I found it interesting to read about the cooling process. However, all the RC-10-family cars I've ever owned were made of nylon. At least (...) (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Strengthening Gears

Hello all, May be I can help a bit with this conversation, I work in plastic injection moulds, when injecting ABS it becomes stressed cause of the path it must take to fill the cavity of the mould, when ejected from the mould, the parts are supposed (...)
