While I agree that the Technic sets of late are slightly dumbed down from previous advanced sets I don't think we can condemn TLG as a whole. It seems that the ingenuity that went into sets like 8880 is now being spent on Mindstorms. And you have to (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Ack ack ack! How can you say this? :-) I have used quite a few of those pieces in pretty useful ways, and the corrugated tubes are brilliant if you are into making your models look realistic. The cab on my excavator would be nothing without (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Any guesses on how much money The Lego Group would make, overnight! if they re-released the JCB set, the old red tractor or the original test car or indeed any of the many other fantastic technic sets there used to be? We need a new group, lugnet.technic.hatea...ssince1998 I can understand people who don't go for the action-figury sets, they are pretty darn untraditional for Lego, but to disregard all these fun sets just because they aren't all boxy? (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

Gee, I didn't even know half that crap existed..... Add to the make-us-happy-set a V12 with the old cylinders and ten 24x43 solid wheels.... And for the second release the old threads (like in 856) or a worthy successor. As for beams, I've heard of (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

8216 seems to have the combo you mean, 8252 and 8226 have their own way of steering (I really like 8226) but that's from the '99 catalogue.... Duq "Tobbe Arnesson" <tnt@arnesson.nu> wrote in message news:3ae53816.243259...net.com... (...) (24 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)
