Hi everyone; I had a question on the 8857 Street Chopper model from 1993. I was looking at the instructions for this on Brickshelf and am wondering if the chain in the rear has any purpose other than decoration. The 8-tooth gear which is connected (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) The word bodge comes up quite often in the BBC show "Scrapheap Challenge", shown here in the States on the cable channel TLC under the name "Junkyard Wars". If you want another example, TV's MacGyver frequently bodged things. (26 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)

To make overcoming this problem easier, and to make the motors more efficient, the new motors contain some gears inside to slow down the output speed and increase the (...) I just picked up one of the old style 9v technic motors and I am having a problem. (URL) works just fine when I just run it so the motor is ok. If I make it into a vechicle however, it works when I hold it in the air but not when I put it on the (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

Only if TLG comes up with a suitable piece. And by that time, I suspect they'll also have a model to go with it, thus beating me to the point. But if they don't, then maybe I'll have a chance. :-) I've already got two 8462's, so there's some of the (...) (26 years ago, 9-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic)
