  Re: EGAD! (pneumatics)

(...) When using LEGO's firmware and NQC the maximum number of power levels you have is 8 (plus off?), so the most you can identiy is 9. This of course presumes that current draw by your compressor's motors doesn't mess with the voltage going into (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Blacktronicle II: Bohrokitron

After building the first one, I couldn't resist making one using the Bohrok frame, since I already knew it was possible. I borrowed the basic concept from Paul Coombs' Gremlin, but the construction is completely original, though it borrows a bit (...)   Re: spider walker

(...) Now if it could only turn corners.... BTW, those Brickshelf URLs (with ?i=xxx) are not available until after moderation either - you need to link one level deeper, like you did with the MPG URL. Regards ROSCO (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: All-Out Lego Drag Racing

(...) Heh... you haven't seen the size of my rubber bands. (evil grin) For the speed I can get on small LEGO vehicles, let's just say that it's not entirely safe for me to launch them indoors. I can pretty much guarantee that a simple and light (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: EGAD! (pneumatics)

(...) I was thinking that one could just use an ADC to directly convert the analog voltage level to a digital number of however many bits you could resolve it to and then taking that binary number to address a demux and have the demux's outputs (...)   Re: All-Out Lego Drag Racing

(...) I dunno - I reckon the RC motors from 8475 would do pretty well against rubber bands ;) ROSCO (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: All-Out Lego Drag Racing

(...) What sort of rules did you have in mind? BTW, if all you're concerned about is speed, by far the fastest racers would be ones that would be powered by elastic bands, and not electric motors at all. Motors and battery packs just add too much (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic)

  All-Out Lego Drag Racing

Would anyone be interested in a LEGO drag racing competition? I don't have anything firm on paper right now, but I do have ideas. I think that it would be limited to four motors, but it would not be a robotics drag race, just an all out race to the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: EGAD! (pneumatics)

(...) Wow, that'll be great! (...) Keep at it. (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: MOC - Small Pneumatic Biped Walker

(...) Thanks Paul! You are always so kind. The pneumatic control circuit is similar to one found in a two double acting cylinder engine, except slightly different. It makes the walking pace more even from side to side. (...) Kevin (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
