Re: MOC - Small Pneumatic Biped Walker

(...) What can I say? Yet another amazing creation. You have a pneumatic control circuit in there somewhere, I think. I know what you mean about the small pneumatic cylinders needing such high pressure to move a switch. The engine I built following (...)   MOC - Small Pneumatic Biped Walker

The other day I was given a challenge to make a small biped using small pneumatic pistons. Normally I don't use small pistons in combinations with switches, because the pressure must be increadibly high for a small piston to flip a pneumatic switch (...)   spider walker

I've had this wind-up mechanical spider for so long that I no longer remembered what it was called. I've always been fascinated with how it moved and wanted to recreate it with LEGO. It's been a fun project, and many challenges were overcome in (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.announce.moc)

2003 Technic sets appear to be released...

I just went to the Lego S@H website and there are a number of new Technic sets there. In particular, the ten-piston 8455 Backhoe set is finally out and at $100 for all those pneumatics it is quite a deal too. I'm going to order some of this stuff (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: EGAD! (pneumatics)

(...) You are doing well Mark. You can use three voltage comparators to detect which voltage level is being output. What you need is three comparators. One for 25%, then 50%, and 75%. If 75% is on, then you'll need to gate off the 25% and 50% (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: EGAD! (pneumatics)

(...) Close. What I would actually be wanting is eomthing that could use the voltage level being output from a *SINGLE* RCX port to do the addressing. So for controlling up to four devices from one port, for example, would require that 25% power to (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Building instructions for reversible, variable speed (barely) pneumatic engine

(...) Beautiful! I will be putting one of these engines on my table! Thanks Kevin. Best regards, Paul (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.cad)

(...) Is this what you're looking for? A 3/8 RCX Output Multiplexer for the FT solenoid valves: (URL) the circuit diagram is a piece of art from France :-) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: EGAD! (pneumatics)

(...) Sweet! So with these adapters, I can use regular aquarium hoses, which can be bought for pennies a foot -- way cheaper than LEGO tubing. Elbow, tee, and cross connectors for aquarium hoses are also really cheap, and I've seen aquarium hose (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jun-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
