  Re: A Monumental Task

I just buy a case of 4 rolls every few years, works well enough for me. Granted, since this last move was only about 40-50 miles, buying a case was overkill. I only used 1 roll. But that's because the truck I borrowed was about 6" too short for the (...) (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: A Monumental Task

(...) Thanks for all the suggestions, but I have gone ahead and purchsed 100 boxes from Michigan Box Company in Detroit. My company has an account with them, so I can just write a check to my company. Total cost $80.00. But worth the elimination of (...) (20 years ago, 17-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: A Monumental Task

(...) That stuff is semi reusable if you take a little care at the end so that you can lift the end up cleanly and reroll it on a stick or whatever, and if you keep it fairly clean so it retains its static cling. I have a roll of it I've reused (...) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: A Monumental Task

(...) I borrowed a roll of pallet wrap from work (with permission) and wrapped my towers and drawers in it.. worked beautifully... Joe Greene UNIX Systems, Network and IT Specialist a.k.a. Guesseppi Piegatura di Carta If you aren't having fun, (...) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: A Monumental Task

(...) I didn't do a whole lot to prepare for the move of my 500-600k piece collection across country (from sunny Cary North Carolina [Raleigh] to rainy Beavrton Oregon [Portland]). Of course most of my pieces were in zip lock bags already. The (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

Re: New mosaic: Portrait of 3 boys

(...) Interesting. I don't have that background, but I may have to mess around in PSP and see what I can accomplish. (...) That's a neat setup. (...) Hmm, I typically end up dragging the blue bins off the shelf and setting them around me at my build (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.storage, FTX)

  Re: A Monumental Task

(...) I don't envy your task Steve. This summer, when my wife and I bought our first house, I had to move a similarly sized collection. I was fortunate in that we only moved 15 minutes away. (...) Since the majority of my collection is in 3033 sized (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

  RE: A Monumental Task

(...) Good luck with the move. Beware masking tape and the evils of what the adhesive will do when left in contact with some plastics! I second the suggestion for using plastic shipping wrap. Sure, it's ecologically bad, but it is recyclable. (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: A Monumental Task

(...) Another good way of transporting already sorted bricks is to just wrap the entire storage bin in plastic wrap a few times. I did this with all of mine when I moved, and I didn't lose a single brick. It also saved me a ton of time. I didn't (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.storage)

  A Monumental Task

In preperation for my move from theeth chattering, bone chilling, people don't know how to drive in the winter, Detroit, to the more mild weather, laid back, quiet lifestyle in the mountains of Franklin, North Carolina, I have the monumental task of (...)
