Still doesn't answer my questions about the scratched bricks. Why would LEGO
send out promotional items with scratched bricks? Low class, man!

Hmmm... maybe I'm not seeing the same thing you are, but most of the problems I
see with the bricks are fingerprints and smudges, probably from overzealous
handling by a fan.  :-)

Also,
wouldn't they send out a box of loose bricks with instructions to a diorama
you assemble yourself? That would seem like a TLG thing to do, IMHO.

'Cause these are probably sent by marketing folks to marketing folks.  It's the
ultimate in juniorization!

Also, when has The Lego Group ever identified themselves as "Lego Systems,
Inc." ? Check the pictures of the box "exterior." (I really don't know in this
situation, anyone have info on this?)

Looks like a shipping box to me -- the whole thing was probably sent by post,
as-is.  Unfold the top, and presto...

As for the "LEGO Systems Inc.", this is the same name they've used for other
mailings (just received something from them the other day with this name, if I
could find the envelope, I'd scan it.)

Just seems a little too much like "internet rumor-mongering" to me. I'll be
skeptical until someone can verify these pics.

Mark -- does ABS outgassing make you paranoid?  :-)  It looks like a LEGO promo
piece to me, esp. in light of the 2000 invite posted on this thread.

(...) Maybe :^) I just take any and all Star Wars information with a block of salt nowdays. The internet has come up with some pretty wild rumors in the last year, so I scrutinize everything now. I'm still skeptical. ~Mark (25 years ago, 7-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)
