May I be the first to say welcome to the collective. Resistance is

Anyway, Anakin Podracer is almost identical in terms of the podracer
itself. The one in 7171 has more minifigs, etc.

My guess is that Anakin, being the "star" of EP1, having the separate
podracer is for the people looking for a cheap alternative to 7171,
especially for kids budgets. 15.00 is a lot better than 89.99, after
all.
