Your right... I remember it said RC Landspeeder.
So to build your own, just add a propeller to the manual landspeeder.

but I did see a model very similar to the version Lego
is building on a Star Wars Toy Collector's web page...
(sorry I forget the URL)

What struck me about that design, was that there was
a propeller in the center engine on the rear of the speeder.

Is this more in keeping with what is in the film?

The model you saw is a remote-control landspeeder.  I imagine the propeller is
there for, well, propulsion.  In the movie, none of the three engines have an
external propeller- they are assumed to be some kind of jet turbine engine (at
least, by me :D ).

The Lego landspeeder is (IMHO) an incredibly accurate model.  The only
improvement I can think of would require a new peice to be made, for a rounded
windscreen.  And that would be a waste, because it wouldn't be too useful for
any other things I can think of (unlike the XWing/Ywing/Snowspeeder, Naboo
Starfighter, and Darth Vader's TIE canopies we've seen).
