the perfect solution would be to use the type of canopy they did
use, but replace the squared-off slant peice with a new rounded-off
peice.  The way they have it now is OK, but a 4x4 quarter-sphere window
that could attach to the 4x4 window extender would be too cool.
that, or an even *larger* Naboo style window... <drool!>

Great idea. Than you could even open the cockpit !
I´m working on my version of Slave I, but I don´t get the right shape. Thanks
for the link to your page. That´s an excellent model. Maybe I´ll nick the
shape of your base. Think I need another X-wing for this... I´m going to put
up some pictures on my page soon.

cool! can't wait to see it.  I like seeing all these different variations on
the same ship done by so many AFOLs... it really gives a good example of how
individual working style affects the designs we all do.

As for the Slave I, that was the most "fun" ship to make so far.... The AT-AT
was sort of enjoyable to do, but there were enough design problems that it was
a challenge to build it the way I wanted to.  The Falcon was a total chore.
The most intense 3 weeks of Lego building I have ever done. But the shape of
the Firespray is so sloped and curved that the real challenge was just getting
all the contours right (which I didn't do, but I was close enough to satisfy
me).  After all the detail work and large size building of the Falcon, it was a
nice simple model. Actually, the only "feature" I added into the Slave I was
the tilting cockpit seat.  I used the small technic chain link and looped it to
the side fins so the seat tilts when the fins are rotated.

cheers!
