It appears to me, that the lightsabres are made out of the same material as
the fibreoptic rods.  Though probably pre-colored instead of having a light
source in the handle.  :)   Those fibreoptic rods have bubbles in them as
well.

Have any of you noticed that there seems to be bubbles in the lightsabers?
At first I thought this might be one of those deals where you could shake
the element and it would glow ;-)  Now, that would be cool!!  However, I'm
assuming this is just the way the lightsaber plastic comes out of the
production process.  Maybe I'm seeing things...

Also, someone said the new Episode I yellow fighters use a Town Jr. drop
plate.  It looks like they do use some kind of drop plate as a base, but it
doesn't look anything like the Town Jr. version (as seen in 1998's police
helicopter transporter).  And, if that's the only Town Jr. piece this set
uses, I'm not complaining.  The rest of the fighter looks like it's built
out of good old bricks, plates and slopes.  Another neat thing is the new
canopy looks to be designed to slide open over itself -- much like a WW II
fighter's canopy opens.

Steve Bliss said he didn't like the Star Wars minifig faces, but they don't
bother me.  Space Port is another story, way too busy.  I wonder if Darth
Vader's minifig head looks like old Anakin as seen in Return of the Jedi
(starts off grey to hide the yellow but when you remove the helmet you see
an old guy with a big scar)?  Nah...not LEGO.

Also, if i am remembering right, a lot of the the trans colored atenae have bubbles in them. Probably just a result of how they are manufactured. (...) (26 years ago, 9-Dec-98, to lugnet.starwars)
