My starwar sets have gone through several interesting morphs since I brought
them home. Both my kids consider themselves to old for LEGOS, but the 15 year
old was the first to tear into them and build the models by the directions.
Displayed on the coffee table, they were admired and commented on by the
various groups of teenagers wandering through the house. Several models met
with accidents on the floor, probably caused by a cat looking for a little
fun. Once the originals were apart, groups felt free to be creative with the
pieces. A set of 15 year olds were the first to reconfigure them, with movie
discusions adnauseum. Then my 17 year old reworked them. Then a group of 17
year olds redesigned them. Now I find battalions of battle droids in different
places each day, only to be followed by thier massive defeat in a heap of
spare parts.
Some may be tired of the movie hype, but I say, when was the last time
you could go to a movie as a family, without the sex and gore, and your
teenagers were actually glad to go with you?
Make it a good day
Louise
